Lost in a fairytale...

Once upon a time, there was a sweet bride & groom that dreamed of marring in an intimate gathering amongst family and friends, surrounding them with love and comfort as they joined hands & hearts on a dreamy May evening......

The Darlington House was transformed into an image that was plucked right from a scene from the Shakespearian play- 'Midsummer's Night Dream'. The courtyard was set with a creamy white rose petal path and floral garland of coral & blush hued roses with additions of fluttering butterflies...all to match the stunning bride in her blush hued gown & excitement in her heart and butterflies in her stomach. As her day began, she wished it would never come to end…

The magical dinner was held in the Rose Garden Courtyard which was painted with roses galore....towering wrought iron stands wrapped in curly willow & reindeer moss covered centerpieces that you’d only think to find in your imagination! Fresh cut garden roses of blush, coral and camel tones accented with an assortment of lilies, wax flowers, golden kangaroo paw and draping amaranthus crowned each tablescape....The finishing “embellishmints” of strung bubble votives along with strands of crystal beading & pendants highlighted hidden mulitcolored butterflies
The cake from Michele Coulon Dessertier, was an enchanting focal point with fresh cut roses and petals of icing resting upon a custom pedestal of moss, sunflower eyes, crystal gems, twigs and butterflies on a sheer moss organza linen spun with silk floral peonies and lily pads..... The coordination of Too A T Events, Tracy and her assistant, Whitney directed like a dream. The caterer, Culinary Concepts provided the palette with exceptional delights. Concepts Sophisticated Event Design provided the beautiful linen and Abbey provided the tables and chairs.
Thanks to our designer/staff photographer/schleper #1/blog editor, Scott O’Hara, for capturing some of these images to prove that it wasn’t just a fairytale. Embellishmint Floral & Event Design Studio looks forward to making all of your fairytale dreams come true!

Scott Anderson Photography

Thanks so much to Scott Anderson for thinking of us at Embellishmint Floral & Event Design Studio! He requested a bouquet for a photo shoot recently, and as always we love to assist our fellow industry artists to create new and captivating imagery.

Here's what Scott had to say on his blog regarding his experience:

"Recently, I had the opportunity to join a handful of Southern California's finest photographers for a shoot organized on behalf of the San Diego Pictage Group. I'll soon be posting some favorite images from the shoot... but first I want to showcase the work of an awesome florist: Dawn Stone, of Embellishmint Floral & Event Design Studio. The bouquet Embellishmint provided was absolutely stunning! The creativity of the arrangement and amazing attention to detail was unlike any bouquet I've seen. I'm definitely recommending Embellishmint to current and prospective brides. Below are a few images of the bouquet." - Scott Anderson 4/29/08

Scott's images are awesome and really tell a story, capture an emotion and most of all preserve the most precious memories. Scott says, "I don't take photographs, they take me." "The un-rehearsed moments, the intimate emotions, the honest and candid expressions - these are what take me."

If you haven't already, please take a moment to visit Scott Anderson's website. He has a fantastic charm that he expresses through his Wedding & Engagement portfolio as well as his Lifestyle & Portraits porfolio.

Thanks again, Scott for inviting Embellishmint Floral & Event Design Studio into your world. We look forward to the prospect of working with you again in the future!

The Grand Del Mar April 2008

A vibrant and plush wedding at The Grand Del Mar was a highlight from our April events.

The Grand Del Mar is San Diego’s newest, premier, luxury venue. Blending graceful architecture, striking natural scenery and lavish appointments, the resort captures the elegance and romance of a luxurious estate nestled in the sun-drenched Mediterranean. Featuring wood-beamed ceilings, imported Italian marble and stained glass accents, the majestic Elizabeth Capella chapel frames the ceremony, offering an incredible picture-perfect backdrop.

Our design direction for the day included, hues of fire red deepening into wondrous shades of sunglow orange with accents of military blue/black - grounded in the Earthy tones of rustic ironwork and burnt clay… Played out in dupioni silk linen and white porcelain chargers trimmed in gold.

Each table displayed a spectacular centerpiece beginning with a bed of rose petals and candlelight… rising dramatically from the perfectly set table, an elegant wrought iron candelabra gloriously crowned with a cascade of exquisite color. Roses of fire red to deep russet, terracotta and bold tones repeated in other ‘floral of the day’ all nestled in a spring time greens collection.

The brides bouquet was a stunning hand tie of burnt orange mini calla lilies and deep red roses then wrapped in a delicate silk ribbon with a beaded accent finishing this beautiful piece off to compliment an equally beautiful bride!

Our day went so smoothly under the exceptional direction of Victoria Schroeder of Coronado Weddings. Her organization provided us the ability to execute our design objective and provide the client with a product that was amazing in complimenting the highly sophisticated Grand Del Mar. Victoria truly practices a service of high quality and it was a pleasure to work with her. We look forward to future opportunities to be on her dedicated team of vendors.

Last but not least, we have to extend our warmest regards to Paul Barnett of Barnett Photographics. Paul is by far a leader in the Photography Industry and it’s always a treat to have him capture the end results and really bring to life the work of art we strive to achieve. His quality of imagery is incredible and we appreciate his team work in providing his work to showcase our talents as Embellishmint Floral & Event Design Studio.
